Education
To provide individuals with opportunities to develop practical skills in the tourism sector through mentorship, on-the-job training and other educational opportunities.
Environment
To support projects that are focused on protecting and preserving the environment, particularly within the context of climate change.
Entrepreneurship
To provide entrepreneurs developing products or services within the hospitality and tourism supply chain with support in growing their businesses.
Entertainment & the Arts
To provide a space for contemporary local artists and creatives to share their work and gain further exposure.
The GEMS Hospitality School is dedicated to cultivating and nurturing passionate Dominicans eager to excel in the hospitality industry. This program equips young individuals with practical skills and hands-on training in various aspects of the hospitality industry, including food and beverage, front desk operations, housekeeping, and more.

The GEMS Entrepreneurship Challenge is aimed at empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering entrepreneurial success. This program offers financial awards and mentorship to innovative business owners, enabling them to strengthen and grow their enterprises within the hospitality and tourism supply chain.

Colin Hill is a renowned figure in AI and precision medicine, with a successful history in developing and commercializing AI solutions for biopharmaceutical drug discovery and development. He is the co-founder and CEO of Aitia Bio, which launched the world’s first Virtual Patients in 2020 for Multiple Myeloma, Prostate Cancer, and Alzheimer’s Disease. Colin is also on the board of Centrexion Therapeutics, focusing on non-opioid, non-addictive drugs for chronic pain.
