A rising youth cricket star from Portsmouth, Dominica has just been selected to join the Windward Islands U19 cricket team. Lluvio Charles is a shining example of what dedication, talent, and perseverance can achieve, and we’re proud to support him as he makes his mark on Caribbean cricket.

Lluvio first picked up a cricket bat at the age of three in his family’s living room. When his father instinctively switched him from right to left to face his first delivery, he knowingly set Lluvio on the path of the sport’s greatest batsman—legendary West Indies cricketer, Sir Brian Lara. From those early days, Lluvio’s passion for cricket grew, eventually leading him to represent Dominica at every youth level from U13 through U19.

Most recently, Lluvio was part of Dominica’s National U19 Team at the 2025 WINLOTT Windward Islands Tournament in Grenada, where the team dominated with five wins out of six matches. Their 318-run performance in the final was the highest scoring total of the tournament, securing the championship and placing Lluvio among the top performers eligible for Windward Islands U19 selection.

Thanks to his outstanding performance and training, Lluvio was named to the Windward Islands U19 team. The team will compete in the West Indies U19 Tournament beginning June 30, 2025, in St. Kitts, facing off against top U19 teams from Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, and the Leeward Islands.

Beyond this milestone, Lluvio has also been selected to the provisional training squad for the West Indies U19 team, a key step toward his medium-term goal of representing the region at the 2026 Cricket World Cup and eventually entering first-class cricket by earning a spot on the Windward Islands Volcanoes and the West Indies senior team.

Secret Bay is honored to have sponsored training gear and equipment to help support Lluvio’s journey. We will be cheering him on every step of the way.
